The company fills a niche in the biotech market by designing global antibodies, custom tools that are used in the study of proteins. Regular antibodies for use in standard laboratory subjects such as mammals are easily obtained, but it is difficult to find these antibodies for use with other organisms such as fish, plants, and algae. Environmental Proteomics' global antibodies can detect protein across different species, thereby reducing costs and improving the efficiency of analyzing biological samples.
